"In a world of brokenness, C.U.P. exists to love God, love people,
and help heal our broken world."
and help heal our broken world."
History of Clinton United Presbyterian Church
Clinton United Presbyterian Church had its beginnings in Clinton, Pennsylvania in 1797 when a dedicated group of men and women formed a congregation as an Associate Presbyterian church. Three years later the first church building made of logs stood near the center of the present-day cemetery. They called their first pastor that year as well. Clinton outgrew its space and a brick building was built between 1830-1833. Our current building was dedicated in 1924 and the education wing was completed in 1957. We became part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 1983. Clinton has had 21 pastors (Pastor Karen is 21) and has had as many as 350 members.
We are blessed with a wide diversity of ages, having a heart for young and old alike. Recently, Clinton has focused its ministry on children and families, starting a young adults Sunday School class for High school and College students, opening a pre-school, hiring 2 additional teaching assistants, running an after school care program, and a 6 week long summer camp.
Clinton United Presbyterian Church is proud of its heritage and the challenges and risks taken by congregational members of the past. We now anticipate the future together as we move forward.

Our church is blessed with a diverse age range, having a heart for the young and old alike. Our service is open to you, your family, and your children. You are welcome to come dressed formally or in jeans; whatever makes you feel comfortable for worship. There is a parking lot available to the left of the church building. The church is handicapped accessible through a ramp. You may enter the church through the front double red doors of the building, where you will be met by a greeter who will hand you a bulletin with the order of worship. Find a pew and enjoy the service.
Children in Worship
Your children are invited to join the Pastor up front during children's time. If you would like, your little ones 2nd grade and younger can go downstairs for activities while you listen to the service. We have worship bags located in the back of the sanctuary that you may use, full of small activities to keep older children busy during the worship service.
All are welcome!
